Donate to Help our Family Heal After Losing child Sophia., organized by Heather Jean

We lost our precious daughter Sophia Jean on 10-15-25 she was born 10-16-25
40 weeks 4 days
She was 6lbs 13oz 20.5 inches long.
We still don’t have answers why our beautiful Daughter was born sleeping, I don’t even know why the hospital let me go that far as I had another stillborn ellie 1-29-23. 23 weeks pregnant i have always had a posterior placenta and been high risk, with Sophia the doctor’s were triple booked and we didnt get the care we deserved now i have a lifetime of pain, its not pain its survival with half of us gone. Ellie lead to sepsis and many other health complications for me like kidney damage and so many other things.
We have to pay all end of life expenses, $3,000 for the autopsy so we have answers, and to fight for not only sophia justice but all the other pregnant woman not getting care they deserve, the babies deserve. We never got answers with ellie or sophia to bring peace we so badly want and need, just some kind of answers and care.
They think my placenta ruptured but arent even sure of that, i had no pain, no bleeding, which typically occur with that, she was always so active and they werent really willing to give answers or look more into why ive had so many losses, after ellie i was never supposed to go past 38-39 weeks cause my health and high risk, me and sophia didnt get the care we needed as towards the end i seen the same doctor 3 times at my last 3 appointments instead of rotating doctors like normal, they were all triple booked appointments with her giving us 9 minute appointment slots, not enough time to properly care for me or her, the plans originally was to induce me while she was healthy, i was insuced with ellie in 2023 there was no reason they couldn’t, i had to ask to be checked, had to ask at my 39 week appointment to even check for dilation and my very 1st cervical check.
she said she wanted us to go natural and not to induce and changed the plans we had in place with other doctors my whole pregnancy.
i so wish now i wouldve pushed more for the original plan cause how high risk i was, the what ifs kill me daily now, we actively have a lawsuit going on and all of those expenses we have a good chance of winning but its going to be a years long battle.
There is so much that goes into the negligence and care we didnt recieve, like at my 38 week appointment i did ask for an ultrasound and got one with the ultrasound tech, and now getting all of my medical history/doctor notes/ ultrasounds etc my placenta wasnt even working at full capacity and i was never even told, just that everything was fine, but little to my knowledge they werent, or weren’t going to be for long, if I had more then 9 minutes per appointment, if we would have been heard, got the proper care we deserved my daughter would be here and i wouldn’t be stuck with the biggest pain and grief for the rest of our lives now, how they can do this to pregnant women and babies, let alone high risk.
it was more about seeing as many patients in a short time then giving true care.
When we found out at 40 weeks 4 dayw she had no heart beat the same doctor told me she “was sorry she didnt take my last few appointments more seriously”
It then took her 15 days to sign death certificate for her to get cremated and finally laid to rest at home, the funeral home said they had never seen a more unresponsive doctor, 6 calls from them, 11 emails, and i couldn’t sleep at night knowing my baby was there in a cold morge doing lifes natural process of decomposing, after 15 days and no answers and at this point the funeral home worried what was going on my husband went into hospital, she swore she would sign it that day to put her to rest finally and still didnt, days later after many calls and complaints they had another doctor do the bare minimum just to have her cremated as ours was apparently too busy once agian.
Then it was 36 days total before she finally fully finshed the death certificate which meant so much to us, we don’t get much from our baby. all we get is all we will ever have. That death certificate was the only legal proof of life we would ever have of our daughter, and we figured after the loss and everything that happened she would atleast care enough to do it properly, but no.
She didnt even fill it out legally, and ifs now bekng added to the lawsuit, she didnt list her dad my husband of many years, but still gave her his last name and he was so broken from this, he was her dad, he deserves to be on it too, she didnt check ANY box, none of my pregnancy complications with her, my posterior placenta, my 4 miscarriages, my stillborn ellie was supposed to be listed as the death certificate asks all of this, i wanted ellie her sister to be on it too as she should have, all the birth questions she didnt check one box of 4 she should, so many things she wae legally obligated to do but didnt once again. she only signed her name and put natural cause of death, she didnt list anything she was legally required to do now im left to have it fixed, i want her legal dad on it, how she got her last name, i never changed my name when we got married, they didnt list her dad, my husband but put his last name for her, her sister listed, all the pregnancy complications, not only it would help us in court, but its also the very little ill ever get of her and our history. So many things had happened, my postpartum follow up i demanded i seen a different doctor in rotation and he looked over it all, hugged me and said there was no need for her to change it all, there was no need to keep her in my belly that long, byt more damage then good because of my health issues, placenta and many other tbings, he said there was no reason i couldn’t of been induced the original plan, and she ended up enducing me anyways, why she forced me to go over 40 weeks saying it would be fine despite my placenta, all the
risks, my past loss and health issues, we have lawyers to pay, years of fighting to do now, searching for answers for us and sophia, i will never understand why the doctor wouldn’t take
sophia sooner, or atleast imform me of things i should have been told about. i want to make sure in my case EVERY pregnant woman and child gets proper care, gets heard, gets more then 9 minutes max appointments.
Losing a kid is something no mother should ever bare.
This isn’t grief or pain it’s learning to survive without half of me.
No parent should ever have to lose their child, our lives will never be the same. Coming home with the empty car seat, then home to the bassinet that would
never be slept in, lullabies thatll never be sung, clothes and diapers thatll never be worn, we sit and look at daily, broken with half of us forever gone now, our daughter shouldn’t be gone, she should be in our arms, no parent should ever have to go without their child.
We are asking for help for all the after life expenses, autopsy, and fees to have research done and get the answers to bring some peace to her death, and hopefully have more answers if we ever decide to try agian, and my husband to be able to take off work and us grieve together. Me sitting here alone looking at all her stuff and all the plans I had for her is shattering and he as her father needs time to grieve too, but we own our own business and him taking time off just isn’t in the books especially right before winter, and us just getting started with it, we are new in our business and not fully established yet, we have been through so much and just can’t keep up, after all the losses now all these After life bills and things that
had to be done coming in.
In January of 2023 we lost our beautiful Daughter ellie, March 2023 when we were still grieving our daughter ellie my 7 year old son kaenan lost his father due to a tragic accident, our family and lives still haven’t overcome those losses and navigating raising my son with no dad at such a young age then in May 2023 our dog faith got hit by a vehicle someone entering our property that wasn’t supposed to, my husband bought me her when we lost our daughter ellie and that’s how she got her name faith, I couldn’t bare another loss so we spent everything we had to save her. She had a crushed nose and 27 broken jaw and face bones, it was such a hard hit after so many expenses from the losses. Luckily faith is still with us helping us grieve.
Then we lost Sophia just last month and my new suv we just got for more room for her and my son broke down 5 days later which forced my husband back to work even faster after paying expenses from losing our daughter and all the bills are rolling in
just for us to get answers for her and the next pregnancy if we can ever bare to try agian. This is my 1st time ever asking for public help, im not the type to do this sort of thing but our family has been through so much and so much is on my husband as we don’t have much family left that can help. Its always just been me and him.
If no one can help that’s perfectly okay every dollar helps.
If you can’t more then anything we just ask for prayers.
Losing our daughter is a pain that will never go away and we were still trying to navigate the loss of our daughter ellie and my son’s father too.
